Sports Cardiology

The benefits of exercise have been well established for virtually anyone, whether it is for the promotion of health or prevention of disease. In recent years, more and more people are engaging in regular exercise, including endurance activities such as long distance running.

There may be questions running through your mind such as:

  • I have not exercised in a while, is this exercise suitable for me?
  • I am physically active but have not done a full marathon before. Will it be harmful to my heart?
  • If I have heart disease or chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol, is exercise safe for me? What kind of exercises can I do?
  • There are reports of very fit people collapsing during exercise. Will it happen to me?

At NUHCS, all individuals are welcome, whether you are someone looking to start regular physical activity, or you are an elite athlete concerned about your heart.

Make an appointment with our Sports Cardiology Clinic now to have your queries answered!
