Biosketch

Dr Anil has over 16 years of experience in the field of interventional radiology. He has been a NUHS faculty since 2010 and has previously worked as an honorary Consultant Radiologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, United Kingdom. He has performed several hundreds of peripheral vascular and body interventions (including liver transplant related interventions, Y90 radioembolisations and thermal ablations for various malignancies). His special interest is in minimally invasive neuro-vascular therapies (for ischemic stroke, brain aneurysms and vascular malformations). He established the in-house neuorinterventional service at NUH. He has successfully rolled out some of the latest endovascular treatments viz intrasaccular flow disruption and acute flow diversion for brain aneurysms, embolization therapy for chronic subdural hematoma, intra-arterial chemosurgery for retinoblastoma, dural venous sinus stenting for idiopathic intracranial hypertension, etc.

Dr Anil is involved in various research projects and has 121 scientific publications to his credit; including 86 journal articles in Medline indexed journals of repute (45 of these are as lead/last/corresponding author). He regularly reviews manuscripts for well-known journals like Cancer Imaging, European Radiology, AJNR etc. He is also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education. Between, 2011-2016, he has served as core-faculty for the NUHS-Radiology residency programme.  He has also organized several conferences and workshops related to endovascular/ interventional radiological treatments in Singapore. For his keen interest in teaching and domain expertise, he frequently appears as an invited speaker at various regional and international conferences.  Dr Anil is also the Secretary of SNVIS (Society of Neurovascular Intertervention & Surgery) and Vice President of SODAS (Society of Dialysis Access Specialists).
